ARTISTAS DEL MUNDO - VENEZUELA

Hoy en la Seccion Artistas del mundo conoceremos a la artista plástica  Catherine Semprun Perich desde Venezuela. 

Nació en Inglaterra el 16 de diciembre de 1977. Desde muy pequeña presento inclinaciones hacia las artes plásticas. A los 12 años decide tomar clases de pintura y dibujo en un taller que dirigía el Maestro Rafael Terán, reconocido artista venezolano. Ingresa a la universidad UNICA (Universidad Experimental Cecilio Acosta), donde se recibe de Lic. En Artes Mención Investigación Y Museología. Tiempo después  comienza su trayectoria en la docencia en diferentes áreas y universidades. También obtuvo título de Magister en ciencias de la educación mención: Gerencia Educativa, paralelamente  obtiene el diplomado Museología Comunitaria.

1.       ¿Cómo nace tu influencia en las artes plásticas?

Desde los doce años aproximadamente sentí inclinaciones hacia las artes, todo comenzó cuando mi padre me llevo a tomar un taller de arte, debido que mis calificaciones siempre apuntaban más alto a las materias humanísticas y artísticas, asique todos los sábado asistía  con un reconocido artista de Maracaibo, el maestro Rafael Terán un paisajista famoso en mi ciudad. Allí aprendí dibujo y algunas técnicas de pintura.

2.       ¿Cómo fue que decidiste convertirte en artista?

Poco tiempo después de salid del bachillerato, inscribí en la universidad Católica Cecilio Acosta, allí estudie durante cinco años Artes con especialidad en museo. Allí obtuve todos los conocimientos y comencé a participar en diversas exposiciones de la ciudad, como alumna y posteriormente como Licenciada.

3.       Que tratas de representar en tus obras

Principalmente el artista trabaja con sus emociones, he pasado por diferentes etapas y procesos en el arte. Hace veinte años trabajaba con naturaleza muerta, paisajes, luego tuve una etapa de desnudos y abstracciones geométricas para ya quedarme en una síntesis meramente abstracta resultado final de mis inicios paisajísticos, donde el color es el protagonista principal, una serie de obras Totems y cuadros que están regados por el mundo llamada “HORIZONTES”

4.       Cuál es tu obra favorita y por que

Azul, es una obra abstracta bidimensional de 1mx1m en acrílico, que realice para la exposición del día del artista plástico en 2017,mezcla una escala de valores en color azul que hacen contraste entre sí, causando un efecto texturado, contrastando con un amarillo fluorescente  que da el equilibrio visual a la obra. Esta pintura de inicio la segunda fase de HORIZONTE II donde sintetizo más  aun los elementos compositivos.

5.       En que te inspiras y que artista te inspira

Me inspiro en el solo hecho de hacer lo que me apasiona, el arte de vocación y profesión vive en un constante análisis de su obra, pasando por las emociones de momento hasta hacerlo presente en el lienzo.

Mi inspiración  y admiración están desde las huellas que dejaron los primeros hombres de nuestra historia rupestre, hasta los pintores del siglo XX, creo que fueron grandes promotores del arte, convidas muy dramáticas  apasionadas, con grandes aportes en nuestra historia universal y artística

6.       Cuál es el momento del día en el que más cómoda te sentís

Siempre desde mi época de estudio, mis momentos de inspiración más profundos son en las horas de la madrugada, después de las 12 am comienza mis procesos creativos, en silencio donde solo está el lienzo y yo,  sin ruidos ni nadie que interrumpa. En esta época de adulta y por diferentes circunstancias he aprendido a pintar en horas diurnas, pero no es lo mismo, el máximo deleite esta en las horas de la madrugada de 12am a 6 am

7.        Además de pintar  has trabajado en otras artes plásticas

La pintura es con lo que más me siento identificada, en mi formación académica he pasado por todos los talleres de arte, desde escultura y cerámica hasta grabado y serigrafía, pero la pintura es mi pasión. Ninguna otra rama del arte más ha llamado mi atención, a pesar de haber trabajado con otras ramas de la plástica, creo que por naturaleza cada artista tiene su especialidad y talentos en determinada área, la mía definitivamente es la pintura.

8.       Con que materiales te sentís mas cómodas

Actualmente me identifico con acrílicos y texturizados, creo que son muy versátiles y nobles para trabajar. Mis inicios fueron con pasteles, oleos y acuarela, pero nada mejor como los acrílicos a base de agua.

9.       Cuéntanos sobre tus proyectos

Por la situación de la pandemia del covid 19 no es mucho lo que podemos hacer los artistas en Venezuela, sin embargo, desde hace unos meses estoy participando como artista instructora en una Franquicia que nace en esta pandemia llamada “tu arte tu Vino”, son clases de arte de dos horas con imágenes ya establecidas donde el alumno se convierte en artista por un día, realizando su pintura y pasando un rato agradable en un determinado lugar con una copa de vino.

1. How was your influence in the plastic arts born?

Since I was approximately twelve years old I felt inclinations towards the arts, it all started when my father took me to take an art workshop, because my grades always pointed higher to humanistic and artistic subjects, so every Saturday I attended with a renowned artist from Maracaibo, the teacher Rafael Terán, a famous landscaper in my city. There I learned drawing and some painting techniques.

2. How did you decide to become an artist?

Shortly after leaving high school, I enrolled in the Cecilio Acosta Catholic University, where I studied Arts for five years with a specialty in museums. There I obtained all the knowledge and began to participate in various exhibitions in the city, as a student and later as a graduate.

3. What do you try to represent in your works

Mainly the artist works with his emotions, I have gone through different stages and processes in art. Twenty years ago I was working with still life, landscapes, then I had a stage of nudes and geometric abstractions to stay in a merely abstract synthesis, the final result of my landscape beginnings, where color is the main protagonist, a series of works Totems and paintings that are scattered around the world called "HORIZONS"

4. What is your favorite work and why

Azul, is a 2-dimensional abstract work of 1mx1m in acrylic, that I made for the exhibition of the plastic artist's day in 2017, it mixes a scale of values ​​in blue that contrast with each other, causing a textured effect, contrasting with a fluorescent yellow gives visual balance to the work. This painting started the second phase of HORIZONTE II where I further synthesized the compositional elements.

5. What are you inspired by and what artist inspires you

I am inspired by the mere fact of doing what I am passionate about, the art of vocation and profession lives in a constant analysis of his work, going through the emotions of the moment until it is present on the canvas.

My inspiration and admiration are from the footprints left by the first men of our rock history, to the painters of the 20th century, I think they were great promoters of art, very dramatic and passionate guests, with great contributions in our universal and artistic history.

6. What is the time of day when you feel most comfortable

Always from my time of study, my deepest moments of inspiration are in the early hours of the morning, after 12 am my creative processes begin, in silence where only the canvas and me are, without noise or anyone to interrupt. In this time of adulthood and due to different circumstances I have learned to paint during daylight hours, but it is not the same, the maximum delight is in the early hours of 12am to 6am

7. Besides painting, you have worked in other plastic arts

Painting is what I most identify with, in my academic training I have gone through all art workshops, from sculpture and ceramics to engraving and screen printing, but painting is my passion. No other branch of art has caught my attention, despite having worked with other branches of the plastic arts, I believe that by nature each artist has his specialty and talents in a certain area, mine is definitely painting.

8. What materials do you feel most comfortable with?

Currently I identify with acrylics and textures, I think they are very versatile and noble to work with. My beginnings were with pastels, oils and watercolor, but nothing better than water-based acrylics.

9. Tell us about your projects

Due to the situation of the covid 19 pandemic, there is not much that artists can do in Venezuela, however, for a few months I have been participating as an instructor artist in a Franchise that was born in this pandemic called "your art your wine", they are Two-hour art classes with images already established where the student becomes an artist for a day, making his painting and spending a pleasant time in a certain place with a glass of wine.
