DANZA ODISSI - INDIA

Esta danza es una de las ocho típicas de la india,  es oriunda de la localidad  Odisha en la zona este del país. Es de las danzas más primitivas de las que se ha encontrado antecedente de su existencia.

Odissi es una danza alegre y espiritual, este baile se diferencia  de otras por  la importancia al Tribhang que  divide el cuerpo en tres partes; cabeza, pecho y pelvis. Otra característica importante son las posturas al pisar fuertemente. Se pueden apreciar en muchas de las esculturas típicas de la india.

En sus comienzos, esta danza era bailada por Sacerdotisas consagradas especialmente para  rituales.

Odissi dance

This dance is one of the eight typical of India, it comes from the town Odisha in the eastern part of the country. It is one of the most primitive dances of which it has been found antecedent of its existence.

Odissi is a joyful and spiritual dance, this dance differs from others by the importance of the Tribhang that divides the body into three parts; head, chest and pelvis. Another important characteristic is the postures when stomping. They can be seen in many of the typical Indian sculptures.

In its beginnings, this dance was danced by Priestesses consecrated especially for rituals.
