ENTREVISTA A ALBA ESPERT GUITARRISTA FLAMENCA

Hoy conoceremos a Alba Espert Ruiz guitarrista flamenca, nació en Jerez de la Frontera el día 21 de Junio de 1.997. Los invitamos a disfrutar la entrevista y su hermosa música.

¿Cuándo te distes cuenta que la música iba a ser tu profesión? 

Recibí mi primera guitarra como regalo de Reyes de las Navidades del año 2005,  cuando contaba con tan solo 8 años. Es ahí cuando empieza mi andadura con dicho  instrumento, recibiendo clases, a lo largo de los años, en las Academias de los maestros  jerezanos José Luis Balao, Manuel Lozano “El Carbonero”, José Ignacio Franco o  Rosario Montoya “La Reina Gitana”, quién impartía clases de Lenguaje Musical. 

Tras diez años con dicho instrumento, tiempo necesario para saber que quería ser  guitarrista, accedo a estudiar la Carrera de Guitarra Flamenca en el Conservatorio  Superior de Música “Rafael Orozco” en Córdoba.  

En dicha ciudad, entre a formar parte como Guitarrista y Secretaria de una  Asociación Cultural Flamenca titulada “Amigos de Paco Peña” de cuyos integrantes  siempre he recibido consejos, apoyo y oportunidades para subirme al escenario en  multitud de ocasiones. 

En el año 2019, obtengo el Premio de Guitarra Solista “Vicente Amigo”,  organizado por la Diputación de Córdoba y en el año 2020, tras obtener una Beca Acciona  en el Concurso Talento Flamenco de la Fundación Cristina Heeren, entro a formar parte  como alumna de dicha Institución. 

Finalmente, en el presente año 2021 me he titulado con el Máster Interunivesitario de Investigación y Análisis del Flamenco por las Universidades de Córdoba y Cádiz. 

¿Recuerdas quien fue el primero que descubrió tu talento para la música?  

Como he comentado en la pregunta anterior, con 8 años pedí una guitarra flamenca  como regalo de Reyes y es ahí cuando mis padres me apuntaron a clases. A partir de este  momento, comenzó mi andadura con la Guitarra Flamenca con la que he aprendido con  grandes artistas, personas, aficionados y profesionales. 

¿Te has interesado alguna vez por otro estilo musical? 

Me interesa todo tipo de música puesto que el Flamenco absorbe de diversos  géneros musicales, pero solo he profundizado en el Flamenco que ya es bastante extenso  y tiene gran variedad de estilos. 

¿Qué es y que representa para ti el Flamenco? 

Para mí, el Flamenco, a parte de ser parte de mi día a día, es mi medio de expresión con el que soy capaz, mediante la Guitarra Flamenca, de manifestar los diferentes  “aromas” o recuerdos de los diversos palos flamencos que existen.

¿Con qué artista te gustaría compartir escenario? 

Me gustaría poder acompañar el cante de Fosforito, Rancapino hijo, Antonio  Reyes o María Terremoto, por ejemplo. Aún soy muy joven, pero he cumplido el sueño  de poder acompañar a grandes artistas y compañeros que me han dado la oportunidad de  subirme a un escenario junto a ellos y a los cuales, estoy muy agradecida. 

¿Qué es lo que más disfruta de ser músico? 

Disfruto tocando la guitarra y viendo al público ser feliz pero en concreto, el  momento que más disfruto es cuando acompaño al cante con mi guitarra. 

Háblanos sobre tu estilo en particular y cómo llegaste a él. 

Como he mencionado, llegué al Flamenco en las Navidades de 2005 a raíz de tener  una guitarra como regalo de Reyes. Desde ese instante, comencé a aprender dicho  instrumento y a profundizar en el género musical en el que se enmarca, el Flamenco, el  cual tiene unas características definidas que hacen no confundirlo con otro estilo musical. 

¿Que tienes proyectado para lo que queda del año 2021? 

Para este próximo año 2021, tras obtener el Máster Interuniversitario de  Investigación y Análisis del Flamenco pretendo poder transmitir los conocimientos  adquiridos a lo largo de estos años a diferentes alumnos, así como compaginarlo con  Festivales y actuaciones flamencas tanto tocando la guitarra flamenca solista como  acompañando con mi guitarra al cante y/o baile.

When did you realize that music was going to be your profession?

I received my first guitar as a gift from the Three Kings of Christmas in 2005, when I was only 8 years old. That is when my career began with this instrument, receiving classes, over the years, in the Academies of Jerez masters José Luis Balao, Manuel Lozano "El Carbonero", José Ignacio Franco or Rosario Montoya "La Reina Gitana", who taught Musical Language classes.

After ten years with this instrument, time necessary to know that I wanted to be a guitarist, I agree to study the Flamenco Guitar Career at the "Rafael Orozco" Superior Conservatory of Music in Córdoba.

In that city, I joined as a Guitarist and Secretary of a Flamenco Cultural Association entitled "Friends of Paco Peña" from whose members I have always received advice, support and opportunities to get on stage on many occasions.

In 2019, I obtained the "Vicente Amigo" Solo Guitar Award, organized by the Córdoba Provincial Council and in 2020, after obtaining an Acciona Scholarship in the Flamenco Talent Contest of the Cristina Heeren Foundation, I joined as a student of said Institution.

Finally, in the current year 2021 I have graduated with the Interuniversity Master's Degree in Flamenco Research and Analysis from the Universities of Córdoba and Cádiz.

Do you remember who was the first to discover your talent for music?

As I mentioned in the previous question, when I was 8 years old I asked for a flamenco guitar as a gift from Kings and that's when my parents signed me up for classes. From this moment, my journey with the Flamenco Guitar began with which I have learned with great artists, people, amateurs and professionals.

Have you ever been interested in another musical style?

I am interested in all kinds of music since Flamenco absorbs various musical genres, but I have only delved into Flamenco, which is already quite extensive and has a great variety of styles.

What is Flamenco and what does it represent for you?

For me, Flamenco, apart from being part of my day-to-day life, is my means of expression with which I am able, through the Flamenco Guitar, to express the different “aromas” or memories of the various flamenco styles that exist.

With which artist would you like to share the stage?

I would like to be able to accompany the cante of Fosforito, Rancapino Jr., Antonio Reyes or María Terremoto, for example. I am still very young, but I have fulfilled the dream of being able to accompany great artists and colleagues who have given me the opportunity to get on stage with them and to whom, I am very grateful.

What do you enjoy most about being a musician?

I enjoy playing the guitar and seeing the audience be happy, but in particular, the moment I enjoy the most is when I accompany the cante with my guitar.

Tell us about your particular style and how you came to it.

As I have mentioned, I came to Flamenco at Christmas 2005 as a result of having a guitar as a gift from Kings. From that moment, I began to learn this instrument and to delve into the musical genre in which it is framed, Flamenco, which has definite characteristics that do not confuse it with another musical style.

What do you have projected for the remainder of the year 2021?

For this coming year 2021, after obtaining the Interuniversity Master's Degree in Flamenco Research and Analysis, I intend to be able to transmit the knowledge acquired throughout these years to different students, as well as combine it with festivals and flamenco performances, both playing the solo flamenco guitar and accompanying with my guitar singing and / or dancing.
