Hoy volvemos a viajar  desde la sección Artistas del Mundo a sudamerica a  conocer al maravilloso artista plástico Pastor Berrios Herrera nació en ORURO, BOLIVIA

1. ¿Cómo nace tu interés por el arte?

Desde la infancia, en el colegio fui muy estimulado por los docentes. En la adolescencia conocí la Escuela de Arte de Oruro en donde podía expresarme con libertad.

 

2. ¿Qué factores marcaron tu camino?

El estímulo de dos de mis grandes maestros: Luis Guerra quien era director del Museo de Arqueología y Alberto Medina quien fue un distinguido artista plástico.

3. ¿Quienes son tus referentes artísticos?

Además de Guerra y Medina, a quien antes nombre mi maestro Ponciano Cardenas con quien compartí la Escuela de Arte Ernesto de la Carcova y su taller particular. Pintores como Rufino Tamayo, Lam, Mata kandinski y otros fueron motivadores.

4. ¿Cuál de tus obras es la favorita? por qué?

Cada etapa pictórica tiene su valor, por lo cual no tengo una preferencia.

5. ¿Cómo ha influido la pandemia en tus creaciones? 

No fue fácil continuar ya que uno no escapa a la preocupación mundial, pero fue un buen momento para meditar y reorganizar mi trabajo.

6. ¿Qué te sensibiliza?

 La naturaleza en general.

7. ¿Cuál es tu momento del día en el que más cómoda te sentís pintando?

Por la tarde y por la noche. La mañana la utilizo para realizar mi huerto orgánico de hortalizas.

8. Además de la pintura, has trabajado otras artes plásticas?

Si, cerámica, escultura y grabado.

9. Contanos sobre tus proyectos para este año.

Dada la situación límite que hemos transcurrido toda y la gente de la cultura aun mas espero la reactivación de los circuitos culturales y galerías de arte para realizar nuevas exposiciones ya que cuento con gran cantidad de obras de grandes dimensiones.

10. Contanos un poco las obras que estamos viendo

Las obras están inspiradas en el arte precolombino y en representaciones abstractas de la naturaleza. Los materiales utilizados son oleos, acrílicos, acuarelas y tintas. La obra en general esta basada en el pasado pero ha sido modificada en s distintas etapas a un lenguaje actual que deja abierto un interrogante hacia el futuro.

1. How did your interest in art begin?

Since childhood, at school I was very stimulated by the teachers. In adolescence I got to know the Oruro School of Art where I could express myself freely.

2. What factors marked your path?

The encouragement of two of my great teachers: Luis Guerra who was director of the Museum of Archeology and Alberto Medina who was a distinguished plastic artist.

3. Who are your artistic references?

In addition to Guerra and Medina, who was previously named by my teacher Ponciano Cardenas with whom I shared the Ernesto de la Carcova School of Art and his private workshop. Painters like Rufino Tamayo, Lam, Mata kandinski and others were motivators.

4. Which of your works is your favorite? why?

Each pictorial stage has its value, for which I do not have a preference.

5. How has the pandemic influenced your creations?

It was not easy to continue as one does not escape world concern, but it was a good time to meditate and reorganize my work.

6. What sensitizes you?

 Nature in general.

7. What is your time of day when you feel most comfortable painting?

In the afternoon and at night. The morning I use it to make my organic vegetable garden.

8. Besides painting, have you worked in other plastic arts?

Yes, ceramics, sculpture and engraving.

9. Tell us about your projects for this year.

Given the extreme situation that we have all gone through and the people of culture even more, I hope the reactivation of cultural circuits and art galleries to hold new exhibitions since I have a large number of large-scale works.

10. Tell us a little about the works we are seeing

The works are inspired by pre-Columbian art and abstract representations of nature. The materials used are oils, acrylics, watercolors and inks. The work in general is based on the past but has been modified in different stages to a current language that leaves open a question towards the future.
