Hoy conoceremos a Fernán Espinosa un a través de esta hermosa entrevista.
Nació en Corozal, Costa Caribe Colombiana, el 6 de agosto de 1960, es odontólogo egresado de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia; especializado en gerencia de servicios de salud, Magister en ciencias de la comunicación y periodismo; ha sido finalista del Concurso internacional de novela “Territorio de la Mancha” en el año 2006 y del Concurso “La ciudad jamás contada” patrocinado por el diario El Tiempo de Bogotá, en el año 2008.
Realizó varias publicaciones como ; MI VIDA POR UN LIBRO en 2001, ODIO EL ONCE DE SEPTIEMBRE en 2009, ROMANCE EN CARTAGENA DE INDIAS en 2012, LA GUERRA CONTRA IRAK NO DESTRUYÓ NUESTRO AMOR en 2014, MERYL STREEP QUE ESTAS EN LA GLORIA en 2015, LA VILLA DE LAS TRES VIDAS en 2016, CIUDADES Y DIVERSIDADES en 2019, CRONICA DE UN INVIERNO EN TURQUIA en 2020, COVID 19: VIDA, AMOR Y MUERTE en 2020 y PROHIBIDO ENVEJECER en 2021.
También ha participado en la antología de cuentos BARCO DE PAPEL, publicada por la EDITORIAL ITA, con el cuento YO NO SABIA QUE MONICA ERA TU NOVIA en 2020.

¿Recuerdas el primer libro que leíste?

¿Cuál fue el primer libro que te impacto? ¿Por qué?
El coronel no tiene quien le escriba de Gabriel García Márquez. La simpleza de la vida ante las dificultades de la misma, un ejemplo certero de persistencia y entereza.
¿Qué manías tienes a la hora de escribir?
Escribo siempre en las horas de la mañana, entre las 8 y 12 del mediodía, de frente a una ventana entreabierta, antes de sentarme a escribir realizo una jornada de meditación de diez minutos, en el transcurso de la escritura tomo mucha agua en sorbos lentos.
¿Cuánto tiempo te llevo escribir tu último libro?
Tardé en escribir mi última novela PROHIBIDO ENVEJECER, seis meses, en medio del confinamiento por la pandemia del coronavirus.
¿Qué te inspiró a escribir este libro?
Desde la cotidianeidad se pueden realizar reflexiones que nos conducen a pensar muy seriamente que el periodo de vida denominado vejez, se convierte cada vez más en una carga para una estructura social que piensa mucho en la producción, además de representar muchas veces altos costos para los gobiernos, en materia de salud, protección entre otros rubros. En medio de la pandemia y ante la certeza de que esta población, es la más vulnerable ante la posibilidad de enfermar gravemente y la posterior muerte, los personajes se enfrentan a la irremediable situación de estar inmersos en la disyuntiva de pensar y concluir que es mejor no llegar a viejos, a sabiendas de que en algunas culturas este ciclo natural de la vida es visto como improductivo, a diferencia de otros en donde es sinónimo de experiencia y fuente de conocimientos y sabidurías.
Cuéntanos un poco de tus novelas
Mis novelas casi siempre parten de hechos reales, (atentado del 11 de septiembre, la guerra contra Irak, la pandemia del coronavirus etc.) tratando de evidenciar las situaciones diarias de la gente, que se desarrollan paralelamente a estos sucesos, en las cuales tienen su irremediable repercusión. He incursionado además en temas que tratan la diversidad humana, tratando de evidenciar las dificultades de su posicionamiento en la sociedad, pero también algunos avances que han contribuido al reconocimiento de las diferencias.
¿En que estas trabajando actualmente?
Actualmente estoy escribiendo una novela sobre las dificultades que ha vivido la industria literaria con motivo de la pandemia; un librero debe cerrar su negocio e inicia un recorrido incierto que lo llevará a situaciones inesperadas y muy diferentes a la que ha vivido en la ciudad.

Do you remember the first book you read?

What was the first book that struck you? Why?
The colonel has no one to write about Gabriel García Márquez. The simplicity of life in the face of its difficulties, an accurate example of persistence and integrity.
What hobbies do you have when it comes to writing?
I always write in the morning hours, between 8 and 12 noon, in front of a window ajar, before sitting down to write I do a ten-minute day of meditation, during the course of writing I drink a lot of water in slow sips .
How long did it take you to write your last book?
It took me six months to write my last NO AGING novel, in the midst of confinement due to the coronavirus pandemic.
What inspired you to write this book?
From everyday life, reflections can be made that lead us to think very seriously that the period of life called old age, becomes more and more a burden for a social structure that thinks a lot about production, in addition to representing many times high costs for workers. governments, in matters of health, protection, among other items. In the midst of the pandemic and given the certainty that this population is the most vulnerable to the possibility of becoming seriously ill and subsequent death, the characters face the irremediable situation of being immersed in the dilemma of thinking and concluding that it is better not to grow old, knowing that in some cultures this natural cycle of life is seen as unproductive, unlike others where it is synonymous with experience and a source of knowledge and wisdom.
Tell us a little about your novels
My novels almost always start from real events (the September 11 attack, the war against Iraq, the coronavirus pandemic, etc.) trying to show people's daily situations, which develop in parallel to these events, in which they have its irremediable repercussion. I have also ventured into issues that deal with human diversity, trying to highlight the difficulties of their positioning in society, but also some advances that have contributed to the recognition of differences.
What are you currently working on?
I am currently writing a novel about the difficulties that the literary industry has experienced due to the pandemic; a bookseller must close his business and start an uncertain journey that will lead him to unexpected situations and very different from the one he has experienced in the city.
