La pasión por la cerámica - Daniele Malsa

 Hoy conoceremos a  Daniele Malsa Porfirio de Magalhaes Correa, Brasileña radicada en Chile  hace más de15 años.

Nos cuenta como trabaja la arcilla y elabora cada una de las piezas.

Todo su  trabajo está hecho a mano, por lo que cada pieza es única.

Utiliza para crear sus magníficas obras; la pasta gres, algunas herramientas como el viejo rollo de abrir masas, ahuecadores, espátulas de diferentes tipos, martillos, esmaltes y horno cerámico a gas.

Todo el proceso de producción de una pieza tienen diferentes tiempos, la duración dependerá del tamaño, el grosor, la forma y del tiempo. En invierno el tiempo de secado es más largo y lento por las bajas temperaturas y humedad del aire. Por lo que hay que armarse de paciencia.

Una vez que las piezas están secas van al horno para una cocción de 850 °C que llamamos bizcocho.

El tiempo de cocción es de aproximadamente 6 horas donde la  supervisión  es muy  importante pues el cilindro de gas suele congelar y es necesario cambiarlo para evitar que se pierda la temperatura.  Una vez que se cocinaron las piezas es necesario mantener el horno cerrado y esperar hasta la tarde siguiente para abrirlo.

Ya transcurrido el tiempo y frías las piezas, se procede a  limpiarlas antes de que reciban el esmalte.

La elección de los esmaltes es importante en una pieza, pues de eso depende la harmonía entre formas y colores de cada pieza.

Una vez terminado el esmaltado las piezas pasan por una nueva cocción, ahora por sobre los 1250°C. Daniele particularmente, le  gusta ir un poco más allá y generalmente utiliza temperaturas que rondan a los 1300°C. La quema en alta temperatura necesita más tiempo, llevando aproximadamente 8 horas para llegar a la temperatura tope.

El resultado final  se puede apreciar recién  la tarde siguiente, cuando el horno estará con una temperatura menor a 100°C para poder abrirlo generando mucha expectativa e insertidumbre.

Daniele nos dice: “Trabajar la cerámica para mi es, además de un sueño de niña, un manera de aquietar la mente, es una forma de meditación, es poder plasmar en la materia lo que siento, aunque sea un simple tazón, pero es un tazón único y especial como lo somos nosotros”.

Mi lema es, piezas únicas porque somos personas únicas.

Y tengo la seguridad de que cada pieza que hago en algún momento se encontrará con la persona que vibre en la misma intensidad de sus formas y colores.

Once the enamelling is finished, the pieces go through a new firing, now above 1250 ° C. Daniele in particular likes to go a little further and generally uses temperatures around 1300 ° C. High temperature burning takes longer, taking approximately 8 hours to reach the maximum temperature.

The final result can only be appreciated the following afternoon, when the oven will be at a temperature lower than 100 ° C to be able to open it, generating a lot of expectation and insecurity.
