PAULA REGO MUSEO PICASSO

En el museo Picasso de Málaga esta expuesta la muestra pictórica de la artista Paula Rego del 26 de abril hasta el 21 de agosto.

Es una artista portuguesa nacida en el año 1935. Durante seis décadas se a dedicado  pintar  de forma figurativa y de manera muy representativa a la mujer con sus historias.

A lo largo de la vida de la artista a intentado experimentar con figuras nuevas. Sus obres resaltan sus experiencias personales y lo que ocurre en el mundo. También incorpora fantasía y el humor irreverente.

Durante el año 1960 Rego comenzó a incorporar en sus obras formas corporales abstractas. sus pinturas de esa etapa denuncia y protesta por la dictadura militar portuguesa.

En sus pinturas la artista incorpora el collage, continua la tradición surrealista de combinar fragmentos dispares y mezcla arte elevado y cultural.

En los años 1974 y1975 crea una serie que ilustra cuentos populares portugueses. Reflejando su interés por la cultura popular.

En la década de los ochenta su pintura es mas audaz, de gran cromatismo, dibujos caricaturescos, explora aspectos emocionales y oscuros de la humanidad.

En 1990 fue la primera artista residente en exponer en la National Gallery de Londres

Durante toda la muestra se puede apreciar la trayectoria de la artista y su evolución en el tiempo.

She is a Portuguese artist born in 1935. For six decades she has dedicated herself to painting figuratively and in a very representative way to women with their stories.

Throughout the artist's life she has tried to experiment with new figures. Her works highlight his personal experiences and what is happening in the world. It also incorporates fantasy and irreverent humor.

During the 1960s Rego began to incorporate abstract body forms into her works. Her paintings from that stage denounce and protest against the Portuguese military dictatorship.

In her paintings the artist incorporates collage, continuing the surrealist tradition of combining disparate fragments and blending high and cultural art.

In 1974 and 1975, she created a series illustrating popular Portuguese tales. Reflecting her interest in popular culture.

In the eighties her painting is more daring, with great colors, caricature drawings, she explores emotional and dark aspects of humanity.

In 1990 she was the first resident artist to exhibit at the National Gallery in London.
