Artistas olvidadas - Rosa Bonheur

 Rosa Bonheur nació un 16 de marzo de 1822, en Francia. se la conoce fundamentalmente por su pintura de animales, de estilo Realista.

Con tan solo 4 años comenzó a dibujar animales, negándose tajantemente a aprender cualquier disciplina que enseñaran en la escuela. recién a los 10 años aprendió a leer y escribir gracias a la creatividad de su madre que creo un método donde cada letra del alfabeto era un animal.

Como su pasión era pintar animales pasaba mucho tiempo en el campo, donde obtuvo la reputación de marimacho por usar el cabello corto y fumar habanos.

Junto con su familia se mudan a París, donde su padre funda  una escuela femenina de dibujo. Comenzó a ir al Louvre para copiar al óleo los animales de artistas como Nicholas Poussin, Rubens o Theodore Gericault. llegado el año 1849 su padre muere lo que la obliga a hacerse cargo de taller.

En 1857 obtuvo de la policía el permiso  para aparecer en público vestida con pantalones para no ser molestada mientras trabajaba ya que frecuentaba las ferias y campos donde realizaba bocetos de la naturaleza

Con la feria de caballos presentada en el salón de 1853 le llega la fama internacional donde comenzó a viajar 

Murió el 25 de mayo de 1899.

Rosa Bonheur was born on March 16, 1822, in France. She is known mainly for her painting of animals, in the Realistic style.

At just 4 years old, he began to draw animals, categorically refusing to learn any discipline that was taught at school. Only at the age of 10 did he learn to read and write thanks to the creativity of his mother who created a method where each letter of the alphabet was an animal.

Because his passion was painting animals, he spent a lot of time in the country, where he gained a reputation as a tomboy for wearing short hair and smoking cigars.

Together with his family they move to Paris, where his father founds a female drawing school. He began to go to the Louvre to copy in oil the animals of artists such as Nicholas Poussin, Rubens or Theodore Gericault. When the year 1849 arrived, her father died, forcing her to take charge of the workshop.

In 1857, she obtained permission from the police to appear in public dressed in pants so as not to be disturbed while she worked, since she frequented fairs and fields where she made sketches of nature.

With the horse fair presented at the 1853 show, international fame came to him where he began to travel

He died on May 25, 1899.
