Fernando Rosas nació en la provincia de Mendoza Argentina. Estudió en el instituto provincial de Bellas Artes, en el cual egresó como maestro de plástica.
Desde 1993 expone de manera individual e ininterrumpida en el medio mendocino, como también nacional e internacional, participando también en muestras colectivas y grupales.
Su producción multifacéticas, va desde el dibujo, la pintura y la escultura.
Algunas de sus obras ya forman parte de colecciones privadas, en Estados Unidos, México, Tailandia, Irlanda, Holanda, Italia y Argentina.
1. ¿Como fueron tus inicios en el mundo del Arte?
De niño, mi padre era escultor y yo lo visitaba una vez la semana, por lo tanto para mi estar rodeado de obras de arte, libros y herramientas fue siempre natural. Lo que diferencia la experiencia del contexto es justamente cuando el arte te ocurre, y eso fue a mis 15 años cuando con unas acuarelas viejas probé copiar un árbol de un paisaje de Corot, en ese momento me ocurrió.
2. ¿El arte que es para ti?
En principio un lenguaje, que tiene a secreta intención de comunicarse con otras personas atravesando el tiempo. Y para mí en lo personal es un modo de vida (freses trilladas si las hay risas) pero realmente, las artes platicas y su desarrollo generan una serie de conexiones que se trasforman en poco tiempo en una manera de ver, de pensar, de sentir, de percibir y de vivir en el mundo
3. ¿Qué materiales utilizas en tus trabajos?
Si bien comencé siendo pintor (un poco separándome de mi padre que era escultor) hace unos años que me topé con la talla y hoy puedo decir que vivo un tórrido romance con la madera.
4. ¿En qué te inspiras?
Me inspiro en lo que veo, cosas cotidianas, imágenes que recepto por ahí, y mucho en el trabajo de otros artistas.
5. ¿Cuál es tu obra favorita y porque?
No tengo obras favoritas, si hay algunas que por diferentes motivos recuerdo o valoro por sobre las demás, pero después de hacer tantas obras no puedo preferir una en específico, considero que todas forman parte de una sola, una gran escultura hecha de cientos de pequeñas obras.
6. ¿Cómo has transitado la pandemia en lo profesional?
La pandemia nos obligó a mirarnos… que tan sólidos somos, que tan nosotros somos, desde ahí en un principio retome otras pericias mas intimas como la pintura y el dibujo, donde el cuerpo, la fuerza y el trabajo físico ocupan un sitio muy menor, tranquilidad, frente a una hoja en blanco no hay más remedio que mirarse, no hay donde esconderse.
7. Nos gustaría que nos cuentes un poco las obras que estamos viendo a continuación
En estas obras he intentado, y lo seguiré haciendo, que las obras que tienen en si mismo un peso específico determinado por el material, se vean leves, livianas. Para eso recurro a posiciones en desequilibrio, trabajo de paño que generen la sensación que busco, como nunca lo logro por completo, estoy seguro seguiré buscando por aquí…
Fernando Rosas was born in the province of Mendoza Argentina. I study the institute in the provincial school of Fine Arts, in which I graduate as a plastic teacher.

1. How were your beginnings in the world of Art?
As a child, my father was a sculptor and I visited him once a week, therefore for me being surrounded by works of art, books and tools was always natural. What differentiates the experience from the context is precisely when art occurs to you, and that was when I was 15 years old when I tried to copy a tree from a Corot landscape with some old watercolors, at that moment it happened to me.
2. The art that is for you?
In principle a language, which has the secret intention of communicating with other people through time. And for me personally it is a way of life (hackneyed strawberries if there are laughs) but really, the talking arts and their development generate a series of connections that are transformed in a short time into a way of seeing, thinking, feeling , to perceive and to live in the world
3. What materials do you use in your work?
Although I started out as a painter (a bit separating myself from my father who was a sculptor) a few years ago I came across carving and today I can say that I have a torrid romance with wood.
4. What are you inspired by?
I am inspired by what I see, everyday things, images that I receive out there, and a lot in the work of other artists.
5. What is your favorite work and why?
I do not have favorite works, if there are some that for different reasons I remember or value above the others, but after doing so many works I cannot prefer a specific one, I consider that they are all part of a single one, a large sculpture made of hundreds of small ones. plays.
6. How have you experienced the pandemic professionally?
The pandemic forced us to look at ourselves ... how solid we are, how we are, from there at first I took up other more intimate skills such as painting and drawing, where the body, strength and physical work occupy a very minor place, tranquility, in front of a blank page there is no choice but to look at yourself, there is nowhere to hide.
7. We would like you to tell us a little about the works that we are seeing below
In these works I have tried, and I will continue to do so, that the works that have in themselves a specific weight determined by the material, look light, light. For that I resort to unbalanced positions, cloth work that generates the sensation that I am looking for, as I never achieve it completely, I am sure I will continue looking around here ...
