Hoy viajamos a Argentina, a la provincia de San Luis para  entrevistar a Alejandra Etcheverry, artista plástica muy reconocida en su provincia.

 ¿Cuéntanos qué es el arte para ti?

El arte para mí es un mensaje abierto, un camino que transita el lenguaje de los sentimientos y deja de lado las trabas mentales. Toda obra plástica comienza en las manos del artista, pero se completa con la mirada del otro, es entonces cuando el círculo se cierra. El arte es la expresión más humana y acabada de la cultura, ya que la preserva a través de la historia y la rescata de los formalismos, desnudando lo que somos en cada momento.

¿Cómo fueron tus inicios en el arte?

Comencé de muy chica, siempre amé los colores. Mi papá pintaba, escribía y tocaba la guitarra. De él aprendí a amar al arte en todas sus formas y a buscarlo en distintas expresiones. Él fue mi primer maestro y fue un maestro generoso porque me enseñó a encontrar arte en todo, a pensar de una manera diferente y entender que el camino obvio no es siempre el único ni el mejor.

Me mostró al arte como un camino espiritual, un recorrido de vida en que los maestros más importantes se esconden más allá, en la naturaleza y en nuestro interior.

¿En que te has inspirado?

Esa manera de mirar la realidad, buscando la cara que no se muestra a simple vista, ha hecho que sea una artista inquieta y siempre activa, ya sea a través de la música, las letras y sobre todo la pintura. Y cuando uno trabaja (y hablo de trabajo no como una carga, si no como una disciplina generadora y creativa) constantemente, la inspiración llega inevitablemente. Crece y se alimenta con cada paso y se vuelve algo tan necesario como respirar. 

La búsqueda se hace constante y por eso la inspiración termina siéndolo también.

Hace muy poco tiempo expusiste  en BADA con otros artistas en buenos aires, ¿Cómo fue tu

experiencia?

Fue una experiencia hermosa y gratificante, extremadamente intensa y de la cual nacen un montón de senderos.

Primero fue una gran alegría ser seleccionada y mi agradecimiento es total con todo lo que hizo Cultura de la provincia para que BADA fuera realidad. San Luis es la primera y única provincia que brindó esta posibilidad a sus artistas, apoyándonos con el stand, el viaje ,alojamiento y traslado de obras.

Estar el BADA fue un constante intercambio con gente que busca encontrarse con el arte. Desde estudiantes que quieren preguntarte todo, pasando por chicos que pintan y les encanta lo que hacés; diseñadores que quieren tus obras para sus clientes, galeristas que se interesan por lo tuyo, gestores, familias que se asombran y preguntan, en fin, fueron 4 días en que no paré de hablar y disfrutar.

A parte de las ventas, que todos los artistas que fuimos de San Luis tuvimos, BADA es algo que comienza y desde donde se abren montones de caminos.

¿Cuál fue tu sensación  de exponer después de la pandemia?

La pandemia es un quiebre histórico, un antes y un después a nivel global.

Mi forma de pintar cambió durante la pandemia. Todo cambio personal es inevitable que se refleje en la expresión del artista.

Si bien nunca dejé de exponer durante la pandemia (lo hice de manera virtual y eso es algo que seguiré haciendo) volver a encontrarme con la gente y de esta manera ha superado mis expectativas.

Es ver frente a mí como se cierra ese círculo del que te hablaba en un principio, es ver como se completa mi obra.

INTERVIEW WITH ALEJANDRA ETCHEVERRY

Tell us what is art for you?

Art for me is an open message, a path through the language of feelings and Let go of mental obstacles. Every plastic work begins in the hands of the artist, but complete with the gaze of the other, it is then that the circle closes. art is expression humane and complete part of culture, since it preserves it through history and rescues it from the formalisms, stripping what we are at each moment.

How were your beginnings in art?

I started when I was very young, I always loved colors. My dad painted, wrote and played the guitar. From him I learned to love art in all its forms and to look for it in different expressions.

He was my first teacher and he was a generous teacher because he taught me to find art in everything, to think in a different way and understand that the obvious path is not always the only one nor the best.

He showed me art as a spiritual path, a journey of life in which the most important are hidden beyond, in nature and within us.

What have you been inspired by?

That way of looking at reality, looking for the face that is not visible to the naked eye, has made

that she is a restless and always active artist, be it through music, lyrics and above all

all paint. And when one works (and I speak of work not as a burden, but as a

generating and creative discipline) constantly, inspiration inevitably comes. grow and

it feeds with each step and becomes something as necessary as breathing.

The search becomes constant and that is why inspiration ends up being constant as well

Very recently you exhibited at BADA with other artists in Buenos Aires, how was your

experience?

It was a beautiful and gratifying experience, extremely intense and from which a

lots of trails.

First, it was a great joy to be selected and my gratitude is total with everything that

he made Culture of the province so that BADA would become a reality. Saint Louis is the first and only

province that offered this possibility to its artists, supporting us with the stand, the trip,

accommodation and transfer of works.

Being at BADA was a constant exchange with people who seek to meet art.

From students who want to ask you everything, to kids who paint and love

what you do; designers who want your works for their clients, gallery owners who are interested

for yours, managers, families who are amazed and ask, well, there were 4 days in which

I stopped talking and enjoying.

Apart from the sales that all the artists who went to San Luis had, BADA is something that begins and from where lots of paths open.

AND YOUR FEELING OF EXHIBITING AFTER THE PANDEMIC?

The pandemic is a historical break, a before and after at a global level.

My way of painting changed during the pandemic. All personal change is inevitable reflected in the expression of the artist.

Although I never stopped exhibiting during the pandemic (I did it virtually and that is something that

I will continue to do) meet people again and in this way has exceeded my expectations.

It is to see in front of me how that circle that I was telling you about at the beginning closes, it is to see howcomplete my work.
