ARTISTAS DEL MUNDO - ESPAÑA - Valencia

Hoy desde la sección artistas del mundo nos trasladaremos a la región de Valencia, España para conocer a María artista plástica.

María Durá, es pintora ilicitana que comenzó su formación artística a muy temprana edad en diversos talleres y academias hasta acabar licenciándose en Bellas Artes por la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, tras lo cual ha continuado formándose junto a artistas de la talla de Antonio López, Golucho y Andrés García Ibáñez, entre otros. Ha participado en diversas exposiciones a nivel nacional e internacional, tanto individuales como colectivas, a lo largo de su carrera. A la vez que ha intervino en certámenes de pintura, obteniendo así numerosos reconocimientos a su trabajo

“para mí la pintura lo es todo, es mi vida, es mi pasión, es la forma que tengo de observar y entender lo que me rodea y de expresar lo que siento, es mi lenguaje. Con la pintura hablo sobre la naturaleza, que es mi fuente de inspiración, y sobre las emociones que me provoca. Me fascina todo en ella, los colores, la vida, los cambios que se producen, su fuerza. Y trato de transmitir todo ello en una pintura figurativa, llena de gesto y de materia, en la que la luz y el color toman un papel muy importante”

¿Cómo nace tu interés por el arte?

Desde siempre. Desde que era muy pequeña me ha interesado, podía pasar horas y horas dibujando, no existía nada más. Y según ha pasado el tiempo, mi interés no ha disminuido, al contrario

¿Qué factores marcaron tu camino?

Ha sido un camino lógico a seguir, quiero decir que una cosa me ha llevado a la otra, y era inevitable que fuera lo que soy ahora. He tenido la suerte de que en casa siempre me han apoyado y me lo han puesto fácil. De una academia pase a otra, luego al bachillerato artístico, Bellas artes, desde entonces no he parado.

¿Quienes son tus referentes artísticos?

Todos, en realidad me gustan todos los etilos, las vanguardias, el arte moderno, el realismo…

¿Cuál de tus obras es la favorita? por qué?

La ultima que he hecho, siempre. Luego con el tiempo, ya le cambiaria alguna cosa… Fuera de bromas, no tengo ninguna preferida. Todas tienen algo especial y una parte de mí. Puedo tener varias obras de las que estoy más satisfecha porque pueden expresar mejor lo que quise contar o por su factor técnico o simplemente por su valor emocional.

¿Como ha influido la pandemia en tus creaciones?

Pues realmente para mí ha sido una bendición porque me ha permitido encerrarme en el estudio a trabajar como loca, sin distracciones y centrarme mucho mas en mi obra personal. Durante este año he realizado muchísimas obras que recientemente he podido mostrar en una exposición individual, la cual ha tenido muy buena acogida. Me siento muy agradecida por ello.

¿Qué te sensibiliza?

La belleza y el orden y el caos en la naturaleza y en la vida. Su fuerza, en continua evolución, el poder de crear y destruir… es en lo que están inspiradas mis obras y algo que en la vida diaria no puedo dejar de observar y emocionarme con ello.

¿Cuál es tu momento del día en el que más cómoda te sentís pintando?

Sin ninguna duda la noche, es cuando fluye todo mucho más.

Además de la pintura, has trabajado otras artes plásticas?

Hace ya muchos años hice esculturas, dibujos… aunque últimamente solo lo hago para iniciar un cuadro y cada vez dibujo menos porque me permite tener más libertad a la hora de pintar y fotografía. La pintura tengo que decir es donde me siento más cómoda me posibilita expresarme mejor.

Contanos sobre tus proyectos para este año.

Mi proyecto principal es seguir trabajando en mi obra personal, desarrollando la serie de pinturas que estoy trabajando y seguir evolucionando con ellas. Además tengo un nuevo proyecto en mente, con el que tengo muchas ganas de comenzar, que se podría decir que es la continuación de todo este trabajo, pero que va a suponer un salto importante en cuanto a temática y técnica y va a marcar una nueva época para mi.

Me encantaría poder disponer de todo mi tiempo para trabajar sin parar, pero todos los que nos dedicamos al arte sabemos que es imposible, que nos tenemos que dedicar a muchas cosas y nuestra profesión no es solo pintar, esculpir… aunque nos gustaría.

Y a nivel expositivo, ahora mismo participo en una muestra colectiva en Elche, mi ciudad natal y otra en Alzira. De momento cerquita, ya que la situación actual no permite moverse mucho., aunque afortunadamente eso está cambiando y también estoy cerrando fecha para el próximo año.

Contanos un poco las obras que estamos viendo

Estas obras pertenecen a la serie de pinturas palmeras y +, que se ha realizado recientemente. A pesar de ser algo que siempre he tenido muy presente ya que son muy representativas de los paisajes que nos rodean. Algunas son anteriores, pero muchas surgieron en el confinamiento y de la necesidad de encerrarse en casa y en uno mismo, y ver más que nunca lo que tenemos alrededor. Y se centran en ellas de una forma muy directa, más cercana, como queriendo llegar a su interior a su esencia y descubrir así los misterios de su naturaleza. Surgen de la necesidad de expresar – sin palabras- las emociones y fascinación que me provoca la naturaleza. Lo hago a través de la luz y el color, e gesto, la materia… en una obra figurativa en la que combina realismo y abstracción de la misma forma que se interrelacionan en la realidad el orden y el caos del que antes hablaba.

“For me painting is everything, it is my life, it is my passion, it is the way I observe and understand my surroundings and express what I feel, it is my language. With painting I talk about nature, which is my source of inspiration, and about the emotions it provokes in me. I am fascinated by everything about her, the colors, the life, the changes that take place, her strength. And I try to transmit all this in a figurative painting, full of gesture and matter, in which light and color play a very important role "

1. How did your interest in art begin?

Since ever. Since I was very little it has interested me, I could spend hours and hours drawing, nothing else existed. And as time has passed, my interest has not diminished, on the contrary

2. What factors marked your path?

It has been a logical path to follow, I mean that one thing has led me to another, and it was inevitable that I was what I am now. I have been fortunate that at home they have always supported me and made it easy for me. I went from one academy to another, then to the artistic baccalaureate, Fine Arts, since then I have not stopped.

3. Who are your artistic references?

Everyone, I actually like all styles, the avant-garde, modern art, realism ...

4. Which of your works is your favorite? why?

The last one I've done, always. Then over time, I would change something ... Outside of jokes, I have no favorite. They all have something special and a part of me. I can have several works of which I am more satisfied because they can better express what I wanted to tell or because of their technical factor or simply because of their emotional value.

5. Tell us about your projects for this year.

My main project is to continue working on my personal work, developing the series of paintings that I am working on and continuing to evolve with them. I also have a new project in mind, with which I really want to start, which could be said to be the continuation of all this work, but which is going to mean an important leap in terms of subject matter and technique and is going to mark a new one. time for me.

I would love to have all my time to work non-stop, but all of us who are dedicated to art know that it is impossible, that we have to dedicate ourselves to many things and our profession is not just painting, sculpting ... although we would like to.

And at the exhibition level, right now I am participating in a group show in Elche, my hometown, and another in Alzira. At the moment it is close, since the current situation does not allow much movement, although fortunately that is changing and I am also closing the date for next year.

6. Tell us a little about the works we are seeing

These works belong to the series of paintings palmeras y +, which has been made recently. Despite being something that I have always had in mind since they are very representative of the landscapes that surround us. Some are older, but many arose in confinement and the need to shut up at home and in oneself, and see more than ever what we have around us. And they focus on them in a very direct, closer way, as if wanting to get inside to their essence and thus discover the mysteries of their nature. They arise from the need to express - without words - the emotions and fascination that nature provokes in me. I do it through light and color, and gesture, matter ... in a figurative work that combines realism and abstraction in the same way that order and chaos that I was talking about are interrelated in reality.
