MÚSICA -ENTREVISTA AL DUO YUCHAN
Yuchan es el nombre aborigen del árbol conocido popularmente como Palo borracho. Esta especie nativa americana puede ser vista en toda la argentina. Desde los cerros en salta hasta en la avenida 9 de julio en Capital federal, Buenos Aires. El dio conformado por cato Mura y Claudio Sanchez toma este nombre con el sueño de poder llegar con su música a cada rincón del país
Integrantes de Yuchán, grupo folclórico argentino con 15 años de trayectoria.
¿Cuándo te diste cuenta que la música iba a ser tu profesión?
Cuando me propusieron hacer una entrevista para una revista de otro país, jajaja! Bueno, en realidad ambos empezamos desde muy jóvenes, cuando aún éramos adolescentes ya andábamos recorriendo algunos recintos de música en vivo que conocemos en Argentina como las “peñas”, en dónde se presentan cantores, nosotros acompañábamos con nuestras guitarras y por lo cual recibíamos algún dinero, creo que en ese momento uno se da cuenta que la música además de ser un medio de expresión también puede ser un medio de subsistencia, para lo cual comenzamos a profesionalizarnos. Te aclaro que todavía no nos conocíamos, pero ciertamente tuvimos experiencias muy similares.
¿Recuerdas quién fue el primero que descubrió tu talento para la música?
Claramente nuestros padres. Es más, ellos también son músicos por lo que desde muy
pequeños, desde el comienzo mismo, nuestra vida estuvo atravesada por la música. En
nuestros hogares siempre fue muy habitual en las reuniones familiares, por ejemplo, sacar la
guitarra y cantar en familia, y recuerdo desde muy pequeño usar cualquier objeto como una
guitarra, ya sea una raqueta de tenis o una escoba por ejemplo. Los primeros acercamientos
con instrumentos de percusión, como el bombo legüero, funcionaron como disparadores para
llamar la atención de nuestros padres, que atentos a estas señales continuaron estimulando
nuestra actividad musical. Por supuesto también fueron nuestro primer público.
¿Te has interesado alguna vez por otro estilo musical?
Sí, aunque tenemos una fuerte predilección por el folklore siempre nos interesaron otros
estilos, desde el tango, los boleros, el rock, el pop, el jazz… Y a veces, en la intimidad de
nuestros hogares nos damos el gusto de experimentar con estos estilos.
¿Con qué artista te gustaría compartir un escenario?
Esta sí que es difícil de responder! Son muchos los artistas que despiertan nuestra admiración
y con los cuales sería un honor compartir un escenario. Y te cuento que a lo largo de estos
años hemos tenido el gusto de compartir con muchos de los grandes artistas de nuestro
género, empezando por Roberto Ternán, que es un cantautor, compositor con obras como
Candombe para José, Dejame que me vaya, Amor salvaje, entre otras. Con él compartimos
nuestros comienzos y participó muy activamente en la producción de nuestro primer álbum.
Hemos tenido también el gusto de compartir escenario con Los Tucu tucu, Horacio Guaraní,
Chango Nieto, Las Voces de Orán, Los Nocheros, El Chaqueño Palavecino.
¿Qué es lo que más disfruta de ser músico?
Sin duda tocar en vivo, con la gente ahí, cerquita! Creo que es lo más gratificante, cuando el
público corea un estribillo o te pide que toques las canciones que grabaste. Pero también hay
otro momentos que se disfrutan mucho como los ensayos, las giras, la producción dentro del
estudio de grabación.
¿Cuál es lugar donde te ha gustado tocar?
Y…Cada lugar tiene su encanto, por ejemplo, hemos tenido el honor de subir al escenario del
festival de Cosquín y te aseguro que es una experiencia muy especial, también hemos tocado
en otros festivales como en la ciudad de Diamante, en Entre Ríos, donde había 30.000
personas. Pero los lugares más pequeños tienen un encanto especial, donde la cercanía con el
público es lo que completa la experiencia.
Háblanos sobre tu estilo en particular y cómo llegaste a él.
Bueno, es difícil autodefinirse en este sentido, creemos que el folklore que hacemos nosotros
es básicamente tradicional en lo que se refiere al repertorio que elegimos, la forma y los
arreglos que hacemos, no obstante siempre nos gustó buscar sonidos nuevos, hemos grabado
con guitarras eléctricas con slide, baterías, secuencias, etc, pero siempre de una manera
bastante mesurada según nuestro parecer, aunque esa definición se la dejamos a quien nos
escuche. Lo cierto es que a lo largo de estos años siempre estuvimos en la búsqueda de los
sonidos que acompañaran nuestras voces, que en definitiva son lo que nunca cambió, desde el
comienzo el dúo vocal surgió con una amalgama que hoy todavía perdura.
Qué tienes proyectado para lo que queda del 2021/2022?
Seguir cantando, seguir grabando, seguir tocando! Con la esperanza de que se termine la
pandemia y poder ir recuperando los escenarios que tanto extrañamos. Por otro lado, nos
hemos adaptado a la nueva dinámica de distribución de la música a través de las plataformas
digitales, que nos da la posibilidad de proponer nuevo material con mayor continuidad. En
estos momentos estamos lanzando un tema nuevo cada 2 meses, y esperamos por lo menos
mantener ese rítmo!

When did you realize that music was going to be your profession?
When I was asked to do an interview for a magazine from another country, hahaha! Well, actually we both started very young, when we were still teenagers we were already touring some live music venues that we know in Argentina as the "peñas", where singers perform, we accompanied with our guitars and for which we received some money, I think at that moment one realizes that music, in addition to being a means of expression, can also be a means of subsistence, for which we began to professionalize ourselves. Have you ever been interested in another musical style?
Yes, although we have a strong predilection for folklore, we were always interested in others

our homes we indulge in experimenting with these styles.
With which artist would you like to share a stage?
This one is difficult to answer! There are many artists who arouse our admiration
and with whom it would be an honor to share a stage. And I tell you that throughout these
years we have had the pleasure of sharing with many of the great artists of our
genre, starting with Roberto Ternán, who is a singer-songwriter, composer with works such as
Candombe for José, Let me go, Wild love, among others. With him we share
our beginnings and participated very actively in the production of our first album.

What do you enjoy most about being a musician?
Without a doubt to play live, with the people there, close! I think it is the most rewarding, when the

Where did you like to play?

Tell us about your particular style and how you came to it.
Well, it is difficult to define oneself in this sense, we believe that the folklore that we do
